Plain English
We built Canceliio because we hate dark patterns and corporate BS. So here's our privacy policy in plain English, not legal fluff.
What data we collect
- Your account: Email, password (hashed), name
- Your subscriptions: Service name, cost, renewal date, notes you add
- Usage data: Which pages you visit, what actions you take (for improving the product)
- Technical: IP address, browser type, device info
What data we DON'T collect
- Bank credentials: We never ask for them
- Payment info: Card numbers, bank accounts
- Service passwords: We don't store passwords to Netflix, Spotify, etc.
- Your location: We don't track where you are
How we use your data
- Send you alerts: Email reminders about upcoming renewals (this is the whole point)
- Improve the product: We analyze how you use Canceliio to make it better
- Support: To respond to your messages and fix issues
How we DON'T use your data
- No ads: We don't sell your data to advertisers
- No sharing: We don't sell or rent your information
- No third-party tracking: We don't use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or similar tracking cookies (just clean server-side logging)
- No profiling: We don't create behavioral profiles to sell to marketers
Chrome extension
Our optional extension runs entirely locally on your computer. It:
- Never reads your passwords: The extension doesn't have access to password managers or filled form data
- Never stores browsing history: It only detects subscription pages when you visit them
- Only sends what you approve: When it detects a subscription page, it asks before syncing anything
Data retention
We keep your data as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all data is permanently deleted (within 30 days). We don't keep backups of deleted accounts.
Security
Your data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS only) and at rest. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms. We run regular security audits.
Your rights
- Access: You can download all your data anytime
- Delete: You can permanently delete your account and all data
- Opt-out: You can disable features or unsubscribe from emails
